On the bottom of most skateboards there are graphics unique to every given brand and the artists they work with. Mix this artwork with the scraps and roughing up from being used on the street and you get some really cool looking cufflink designs!
I make small batches of wooden products here in Canada from broken and recycled skateboards that have been deemed completely unridable and donated from shops and individuals from all around Ontario and beyond.
Process
Every Cufflink Starts with a Broken Skateboard
We try and use every single little piece of each broken skateboard. So cufflinks are a perfect item that we can use smaller leftovers pieces for after we have cut out our sunglasses frames and arms.
Artistic garphics on the bottom of each board
Pictured beside is an pile of skateboards getting cut up and used for sunglasses. But we can see that there is still a tun of great skateboard graphics left over. So we use this left over pieces for other small products such as cufflinks, watches, belt buckles and earrings!
